Optilic is an Australian company building assistive technology — software that sits beside skilled people and takes the part of the work that steals their attention, without taking anything else.

Our first product, currently in research, is ambient clinical documentation for dentistry: it listens to an appointment and drafts the clinical note, so the clinician's hands and eyes can stay with the patient.

the rule

Every product we build starts from the same rule: the recording never leaves the room it was made in. For the dental scribe, that means audio is transcribed on a device inside the practice and destroyed at the boundary — only text ever crosses to the cloud, and only a clinician's signature turns a draft into the record.

We hold this rule because the alternative is the industry default, and we think the industry default is wrong. A patient's voice is not training data. A practice's conversations are not a product. The security page describes what the rule means technically.

where we are

Early. Optilic is in the research stage: we are testing transcription and note-drafting against scripted, clinically-plausible consultations — not real patients. No product is available for clinical use, and we make no accuracy or regulatory claims. When we publish numbers, they will be measured ones.
