Design the hardware that sits in the operatory. Our edge device processes audio and imagery inside the practice, it never phones home with the recording. You'll own the electrical design of that device: from power delivery and thermal management to the sensor interfaces, compute module integration and EMC compliance that make clinical-grade hardware real.
What you'll do
- Design PCB schematics and layouts for the edge compute device, power, signal integrity, thermals
- Select and integrate microphone arrays, image sensors and compute modules (GPU/NPU SoMs)
- Design power systems, USB-C PD, battery management, low-noise analogue supply for audio
- Develop firmware for sensor interfaces, boot sequencing and hardware self-test
- Drive EMC pre-compliance and work with test houses for regulatory certification (AS/NZS, IEC)
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering on enclosure thermals, connector placement and DFM
What we're looking for
- Degree in electrical or electronic engineering
- Experience designing mixed-signal PCBs, at least one design taken through to manufacture
- Familiarity with embedded compute platforms (Jetson, Raspberry Pi CM, Qualcomm RB-series or similar)
- Understanding of audio signal chain design, MEMS microphones, ADCs, low-noise pre-amps
- Proficiency with schematic capture and layout tools (Altium, KiCad or similar)
- Experience with or willingness to learn EMC compliance for clinical or consumer electronics
- Comfortable with C/C++ for firmware; Python for test scripts
