Build software that clinicians trust with their patients' data. You'll work across the stack, from on-device audio processing and real-time transcription to cloud-side note drafting, clinical safety gates, and the desktop application clinicians interact with. The codebase is young; you'll shape its architecture, not inherit someone else's.
What you'll do
- Design and build the edge application, Tauri (Rust shell), Python engine, real-time audio pipeline
- Develop and maintain clinical safety gates and compliance-critical invariants
- Build APIs and cloud services on AWS (Bedrock, FastAPI, serverless)
- Write tests that prove constraints hold, not just that the happy path works
- Own features end-to-end: from design through implementation to monitoring in production
- Contribute to security architecture, data residency, audit trails, privacy controls
What we're looking for
- Strong fundamentals: data structures, systems design, networking, concurrency
- Proficiency in Python; experience with Rust, TypeScript or C++ is a plus
- Experience building desktop applications, real-time systems, or clinical/regulated software
- Understanding of security principles, threat modelling, least privilege, audit logging
- Comfort with ML inference pipelines (you don't need to train models, but you ship them)
- The instinct to write the test before believing the code works
