Young on purpose: introducing Optilic

A proprietary trading desk and a clinical-AI research arm, one standard of proof, and why we think starting now is the advantage.

Optilic Trading Group (OTG) was founded in Sydney in 2026 around one habit: trusting nothing that hasn't survived the data. Everything else about the firm, the desks we run, the people we hire, the way we review each other's work, follows from taking that habit seriously.

We started with the hardest version of the promise: clinical software. Our research arm is building ambient clinical documentation for dentistry, engineered so the recording never leaves the room it was made in. In that setting, a privacy failure isn't a bug ticket; it's a breach of trust with a patient in the chair. Constraints have to be architecture, not policy, and they have to be proven by tests, not promised in documents.

The trading desk grew from the same instinct. Markets are the most honest scoreboard there is: every model, every assumption and every line of code gets marked to market daily. A firm that can hold that standard on a trading desk can hold it anywhere, which is exactly the point of having both frontiers under one roof.

What we are, and what we're not

Being new is usually spun as something to hide. We think it's the offer. The people who join now don't inherit a firm, they build the one the next decade inherits, and everything they build gets measured honestly, because that's the only way we know how to work.

Want the longer version? We wrote up how the firm actually works, from pricing to risk to the path every strategy walks.
