Privacy policy.
Updated 4 October 2026
This policy covers optilic.com, run by Optilic (ABN 14 936 199 260), a founder-run business in Sydney, Australia. It explains what happens to information you send through the site's forms. Questions go to operations@optilic.com.
What the forms collect
- Internship application. Your name, email, university, degree, year of study, your resume or a link to it, why you are applying, and how you heard about Optilic.
- Later internship stages. If an application goes further, you may be asked after the first call for your address, referee details, academic transcript, WAM or GPA, phone number and confirmation of work rights.
- Mentorship sign-up. Your name and preferred name, email, phone, preferred mode, university, discipline, LinkedIn, optionally GitHub, your goals, and how you heard about Optilic. Pronouns and any adjustments you need for the assessment are optional.
- Assessment. The answers you submit through the candidate portal, your full name as on your ID, and the time from sign-in to submission. While you sit it, the portal also records your progress and counts of leaving fullscreen, switching windows and pasting text. These are shown live to admissions and sent with your paper. The conditions page says this before you begin.
Only send what the form asks for. Do not include information such as health details or government identifiers unless you have been asked for it.
How it is handled
- When you submit a form, its contents are sent as an email to Optilic's monitored mailbox (careers@ or admissions@optilic.com). An acknowledgement email is sent to you.
- The emails are delivered through Resend, an email delivery service. The site is hosted by Vercel. Both process the submission in transit to deliver it.
- The website does not keep a database of applications or submissions. The one exception is the assessment's live-progress record: your email, paper number, progress and the counts above, kept in a small data store (Upstash Redis, through Vercel) so admissions can follow the assessment live.
- A person reads every application. Your information is used only to assess your application or sign-up and to reply to you.
How long it is kept, and deleting it
Your information is kept only to assess your application or sign-up. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time, and it will be. You can also ask to see or correct what Optilic holds about you. Write to operations@optilic.com from the email address you used.
Cookies and tracking
The site does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and its public pages do not set cookies. The candidate portal sets one sign-in cookie when you sign in with your access code. It only keeps you signed in, and it expires after six hours. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, write to operations@optilic.com first. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
