the optilic mentorship program

Learn to think like a desk.

A term-long mentorship for first-year university students in engineering, computer science, commerce and mathematics, run both online and onsite at the Sydney office. You work with someone who trades, researches or builds at Optilic, on your actual work: your maths, your code, your models, your habits.

Twelve weeks, one mentor, real standards.

01

Fortnightly one-on-ones

Six sessions with your mentor across the term, run online or onsite at the Sydney office, whichever works for you. You bring work; they bring the standard the desk holds itself to. Expect your assumptions to be questioned kindly and precisely.

02

Work reviewed line by line

Between sessions you submit one piece of real work: a proof, a program, a model, an analysis. It comes back marked the way we mark each other's.

03

The path into the firm

The reading list we actually use, mock interviews before recruiting season, and a direct line to the first-year internship program for those who show the level.

The shape of the work.

The program lives where these curves do: probability, calculus, computation. If they make you curious rather than tired, you will fit right in.
